If anyone knows me best, they can tell you I could live in a hoody everyday of my life. There's nothing more perfect than a dope hoody with an awesome print/design. Thanks to M.I.A I can live in a different one everyday. It's no surprise M.I.A made a progression towards clothes..besides her clothes look like her music. It's art, no matter what form, they all counter act one another. Dope clothes, dope music...let's go out and have a dope time.

Gloomy Sunday

It's been a little more than half a year, and to think that Alexander Mcqueen took his life, is still a shock. A memorial service was held for him on Monday, Sept 20. Friends such as, Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bjork where attendees just to name a few. Bjork sung a Billie Holiday song called "Gloomy Sunday", and was wearing an angelic wood-like dress created by the designer. Before Lady Gaga and her many Mcqueen outfits, there was Mcqueen and Bjork. Bjork has worn Mcqueen since the mid 90's. The Homogenic cover album was designed by the late designer, and has worn numerous of his designs in concerts, and he also directed her music video to "Alarm Call". It's not often you get to experience two genius minds working together , but when you do, all you experience is beauty.

MIU MIU Fall 2010

This is by far my most favorite collection Muccia Prada, the Italian designer has produced. As I get older, I've notice my taste for clothing has gotten a little more sophisticated, but still cannot let go of the adolescent in me. This collection is the perfect mash-up between law school and kindergarten. The cuts and shapes are simply a throw back to (my most favorite fashion era) the 60's. I say if Edie Sedgwick where alive today she would be dressed head too toe in MIU MIU.

I recently watched " Basquiat - The Radiant Child" I am at a lost for words. The best documentary I've ever seen. Yes , I am partial to Basquait, but this film was simply amazing. He was a remarkable artist that will forever be apart of my art. Thank you for inspiring the generation of artist following you, including myself.

Before the recent Alice in Wonderland movie,there was this awesome video (well,more like a mini movie). Its hard to believe "What are you waiting for" came out in 2004. Fashion Designer John Galliano is who we have to thank for these amazing costumes/fashion. Gwen,you've never let me down.

As a kid I would make costumes for my brother and I, out of newspapers, found objects, garbage bags, to wear on our trip to Grandma's. But not as sophisticated as this. The perfect origami pleats to create a well architectural suit is flawless...out of newspaper? (but not really) even better. Balenciaga 2010 Fall collection is a perfect mix of found objects,origami paper, and found textiles, creating a perfect sophisticated tailored art project.

Nick Cave - Soundsuits

If art, modern dance,fashion, textiles, had a baby, Nick Cave would be their first born. If Bjork hasn't contacted this artist already...well let's hope she has. If your visiting Houston or you live here,please show love. Mr. Cave's Soundsuits are in display at The Contemporary Museum May 15 - July 25 2010...trust me you want to see this up close.

Yes Yes the time has come for big changes! "Chicle de anya" will be relocating to The Historical Heights Theatre (one block down)! So excited about the change.....a little more doper, and fresher!
